A historical mansion in the Maine Highlands courtesy of Mark and
Judith who are from England.

The Brewster Inn is located in Dexter, Maine which is less
than an hour's drive to Bangor and the beautiful Moosehead
Lake and Mt Katahdin region of Maine.

Escape to the scenic beauty and tranquility of the Maine Highlands.

We're just a few mins drive away from Judy and Bob at Northern
Maine Riding Adventures.

The Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a
former Maine Governer and Government Senators family home.

If you ever saw the the 3 time Golden Globe and 5 time Oscar
award winning film "The Aviator" starring Leonardo De Caprio as
Howard Hughes then you will of seen Alan Alda from MASH
playing the Senator that was in charge of the Government task
force that tried to bring Howard Hughes down in political
history.

In that film Alan Alda played Senator and also
Governor Ralph Owen Brewster and its his home we have so
its pretty historic Our Inn was shown on TV across the
USA on HGTV in June 2008 as we were filmed for their show
"If walls could talk" in Oct 2007 Presidents Truman and
Taft, 7 Senators that we're aware of and Louis B. Mayer
founder of MGM Films have all been and stayed here.

Our 9 guest rooms range from expansive to cozy, and each
offers a distinct personality. Some feature Kingsize beds,
fireplaces, original wood paneling, window seats and original
tile bathrooms. Others offer a view of the gardens or a
whirlpool bath for two.

One handicapped accessible guestroom is also available.
All guest rooms have their own bathrooms, cable TV,
AC in season and their own independant heating controls,
wi-fi, luxury bathrobes and towels as well as in-room
DVD players with movies all available for you to enjoy.

We also encourage you to take advantage of our large living
room, expansive gardens, screen porch and patio for relaxation,
reading, conversation or just watching the world go by. The
dining room is a great space for writing or playing board games.

The Brewster Inn welcomes children of all ages.

We partner with a local spa to offer spa treatments and massage
either here at the Inn or at the spa. We also can offer 24 hr gym
memberships at Millside Fitness in Dexter for just $ 5.00 a day.

Explore the area and all of its quaint charm while staying with us
at The Brewster Inn. Walk to shops in Dexter where you will find
a variety of shopping, restaurants, antiques and Maine made
items. Take a drive or bicycle ride around the area and
experience an abundance of scenic views from Lake
Wassookeag, charming farms and beautiful countryside.

Visit one our many local farms and orchards for apple and
pumpkin picking. Don't forget to take home delicious Maine
pure maple syrup.

In the cooler months enjoy activities such as our winter town
festival, horse drawn sled rides. snowmobiling, snow shoeing,
skiing and ice fishing.

In the warmer months enjoy moosewatching, whitewater rafting,
canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing and birdwatching

Room rates are $ 69.00 - $ 139.00 per night double occupancy.
Additional guests are just $ 15.00 a night extra and all room
rates include an excellent breakfast before your days activities.

Directions to the Brewster Inn:

Take Rt. 95 North to exit 39, Newport/Dexter. Take Rt. 7 North. Travel through the following towns: Newport, Corinna, to the town of Dexter. Turn left at the stop light onto Main Street. Go thru town, to 37 Zion's Hill Road.

From Bangor, take Rt. 15 North to Dover-Foxcroft. Turn left at the first stop light onto Rt. 7 South. Go to the town of Dexter. Turn right at the stop light onto Main Street. Go thru town, to 27 Zion's Hill Road.
