The Brewster Inn
Innkeepers: Michael and Ivy Brooks
We are proud of our home, and enjoy sharing it with guests year-round. Whether you come to the Dexter
area for business, vacation, or a family visit, we'd like you to make it your home, too. Our desirable
location - amidst mountains and lakes, yet just an hour from the coast - makes the Brewster Inn a
perfect choice for your visit to Maine.........
Dexter, Maine offers a small town ambiance and is enviably located midway between the Maine coast
(approximately 40 miles to Belfast) and mountains and lakes (approximately 40 miles to Moosehead Lake
and Squaw Mountain). Guests can take a picnic lunch and explore the countryside, or walk to antique
stores and local Wassokeag Lake. Dexter is also on the Maine snowmobile trails and is home to the
Dexter Shoe Company outlet.
Guests may use the dining room, living room, sun room and conservatory, which are furnished in a variety
of antiques, reproductions and family heirlooms. Books abound, as do art and craft objects, and an antique
radio collection spills over into many of the rooms.
In warm weather, relax on our covered porches and enjoy over an acre of rose and perennial gardens. In
the winter, curl up in the living room window seat and watch the snow fall, or sit by the fire and indulge
in novels and hot chocolate.
Our guest rooms range from expansive to cozy, and each offers a distinct personality. Some feature fireplaces,
original wood paneling, window seats and original tile bathrooms. Others offer a view of the gardens or a
whirlpool bath for two. One handicapped accessible room is available. The Brewster Inn welcomes well-behaved,
supervised children of all ages. We cannot accept visiting pets, but will be happy to arrange boarding at
a nearby pet motel.
We welcome special events, such as weddings, family reunions, anniversary parties, etc. Whether you come
to the Dexter area for business, vacation, or a family visit, we'd like you to make it your home too.
Please call for a brochure or more information.
